I have received the remote to connect to my Ellia diffuser ARM 20 but it won’t connect do I need to do something to activate it or should it just work

Is this remote compatible with the ARM910 Gather diffuser. I have bought my diffuser off Amazon but there is no remote control in the box. I found a button underneath the diffuser that turns it on and off, but I can't control the light or turn on music
